Common ratios for jewelry

RatioTypical use
1:1Product listings and shop grids
4:5Instagram feed posts
9:16Reels, Stories, TikTok and Shorts
16:9Website banners and YouTube
2:3 and 3:2Pinterest pins and photo prints
3:4 and 4:3Tablets and catalogues

Ratio is not resolution

A 1:1 image can be 1000 × 1000 pixels or 4000 × 4000. Ratio sets the shape, while the pixel dimensions set how large the image can be shown. Many platforms recommend a minimum size for zoom, which our marketplace image size guide lists.

Plan the framing

Changing ratio is more than cropping. A ring centred for a square image may lose its shank in a 9:16 crop or float in empty space at 16:9. Adjust the camera for each ratio and keep important details away from the edges that apps cover with buttons and captions.

In the RenderMyJewels studio

The Image and Video tabs share the same eight ratio presets, 1:1, 4:5, 9:16, 16:9, 2:3, 3:2, 3:4 and 4:3, and stills can also use custom sizes. Stills export up to 8K and videos up to 4K, so one model can produce a full set of listing images, social posts and banners.
